Vertical Pyramid Farming Concept in 2060
Columbia University professors Eric Ellingsen and Dickson Despommier have envisioned the way we’ll grow our food 50 years from now. Considered a good solution by now, vertical farming is supposed to become a necessity in the years to come. A sustainable and local source for food, the Vertical Farm Project is a complete pyramidal ecosystem that would reuse internal waste, would produce fish and even poultry, and would feature a heating and pressurization system to separate sewage into water and carbon to fuel machinery and lighting. Could this be a solution for one of the biggest problem of our world - overpopulation? At least it looks cool… [via Inhabitat]
